xanga, myspace, facebook, and now blogger.
What is my facination with all of these weblogs and networks? There could be a number of reasons, but I'm pretty sure my dad was right about one thing...community. We like to be a part of somthing. For me, it's a desire to just get words on "paper" regaurdless of who may read them. Mostly though, I think I like that it's a good way to stay in touch and stay connected. No matter that some of my friends live miles away, I can, if only for a few minutes, have a peek at the happenings in their lives. And that is worth smiling about. :)
So anyway, the past few months have been a sort of whirl wind for me. Here's a quick recap:
May-July-
got engaged, graduated from college, moved back home, sat around for a good 5 weeks looking for a job, gave up and went to Snelling (a personel service) and got a job as a filing clerk at Bancorpsouth. Missed Robert Ekis tremendously, as he was in Alabama for the summer. I helped with the kiddies at NorthStar which launched the month before (in April). Drove back and forth to Huntsville from Tupelo to see Rob. Officially became a grown up when I started going to bed at 9:30.
August - October
Began working at Hope Family Ministries (http://hopefamilyministries.com) at the end of July. Bought my wedding dress and many other wedding things. Wedding plans began full swing. I started doing the Patriarchs Bible study and started learning lots of cool things about that... Hung out with my lady friends here and there, prayed Robert through Exegesis and Bible and Missions.
November and December
Hired an awesome photographer *sigh of relief* Had great times in Arkansas for Thanksgiving then drove out to Hville and had more fun times. I turned 23 Dec 21 and went to Harvey's with the familia. Had some kick butt ribs! Christmas was great this year. I had a whole week off, which was my first vacation time since I started working full time. Christmas day me, my mom, and Robert had the stomach virus. It was no fun. But we got better and had a good rest of the week. I then got a bad cold and was sick for another whole week. I got Robert a grill for Christmas. There's a long story about a PS2 that I could go into, but I won't for lack of well i just really don't want to...Robert finished school with an A in exegesis *Praise Praise Praise God!*
January
well, the first 15 days of 2007 have been pretty good. New Year's Eve was really fun. We hung out at
Katie and Casey's with April, Wesley, and Tully. Drank some nasty sparkling grape juice...Robert went to California to visit his family, and now wedding stuff is beginning to pile up on me. I've got a lot to do in the next 3 months, but I'm looking forward to it :) God was good the past couple months. I struggled some with lots of different things, but He's constantly faithful, and still teaching me a lot. I have so far to go with Him and so much to learn. "And miles to go before I sleep. Miles to go before I sleep..." Right now we're praying for God's direction as far as where to serve, and where He will bring us. It's all very exciting. I'm glad to be a part of such a great adventure. I look forward to serving with Robert in a church somewhere, being a little wifey, starting my masters, having some babies, or just whatever God chooses to do or send us. Who knows, I may be posting one day from Africa or China... I am learning that I need to live for TODAY, be faithful where God has me, "bloom where I'm planted", live in victory TODAY, pray for strength for TODAY and be surrendured TODAY. So, It's a new day indeed. If you read this whole thing, bless your heart. You're so sweet.
